Not all brands’ boxing gloves are created equal. TWINS Boxing Gloves are made to the highest standards of quality and protection. If you are sparring, it is important to recognize a different brand may not offer the same protection, either for the person receiving or delivering a punch.

Talk to your instructor/coach about what gloves you should wear during training or competition. Below are general recommended guidelines.

If you hit much harder than others in your weight class, then for safety in sparring, you may be advised to use gloves 2-4 ounces heavier.

For heavy bag work and mitt work, you may want more speed and not need as much protection as for sparring and may go 2-4 ounces lighter. Also for competition, promoters often call for smaller, lighter gloves.
